It is deeply hurtful to have your contributions overlooked and to be called selfish, especially when you are experiencing a financial "dry spell" and have previously been responsible for purchasing necessities like food and feminine products aswell as bills
Financial stress often causes partners to stop acting as a team and instead view each other as adversaries, leading to blame rather than partnership. When money is scarce, tension can turn into hostility and unfair accusations.
