The Power of Faith

GenXer Sharon 🙏🍀

The last few days Blake has decided to open the book of life! He’s been back in prayer and today He’s meeting with Steve(his buddy from high school now a cop) and Steve’s lawyer; hoping that this all works out alright. For now he’s at Old Fashioned Delights cleaning up all that he possibly can. He’s got a dumpster full of old booths, tables, flooring; you name it; he’s tossing it in the trash. From the corner of his eye he spots the silhouette of a woman that looks like Bessy. He pauses for a moment and thinks; “it can’t be.” Not much seems to have changed about the woman he once loved. A few days of prayer and reading; could this be a blessing from above? He walks towards where she’s standing and says; “Bessy is that you?”  When she turns around; the woman says; “Blake; I knew it was you!” For a moment in time they both take each other in. “It’s been a long time; Bessy says as she can’t take her eyes off him. Blake is captivated once again by this woman who holds his heart. “She ages well;” and is beyond beautiful! A priceless work of art. “That it has. I’d offer you some ice cream or something to eat but most of it is in the trash.” Bessy smiles; and Blake has had all he can take. “Do you plan on opening again Blake?” He fills her in on the plan and the bumps along the way. “If I remember you well; when you’re determined you can make anything happen Blake!” She offers her support as she always did before. Blake is so grateful and couldn’t ask for more. “I know a few people in town that may be able to push this along for you.” Blake informs her of today’s meeting and wonders what exactly she can do. “It’s been years Bessy.” “You would do that for me?” “This town needs life in it again Blake; so much has changed; it’s just the thing people need.” Blake sees the glow upon her face; something about her has changed; he can’t put his finger on it but he notices it just the same. Blake and Bessy are off to a great fresh start; will it last? See you in the next part.
