Transformation

Fränz Müller

As fire consumes wood,

changing it irrevocably

from a familiar form to something new

adversity changes us, transforms us;

sometimes into warming coals

that draws people near,

sometimes into pale gray ash

to be carried away by those familiar winds

leaving us adrift

buffeted by the storms of life.

    A great metaphor that takes us to two extremes of life. Nicely written

    Tbis could be about transformation in the natural world. From wood to a human being. Everything changes with time into something else. Hopefully for the better. Nicely written.
