I am conquering my fears this time, I'm holding my head up high.

Friendship

I am conquering my fears this time, I'm holding my head up high.

The shadows that whispered of all I could lose,
Are fading like ghosts in the morning’s bright hues.
For too long I faltered, a prisoner of night,
But I’m turning my face to the edge of the light.

The tremors that haunted the palms of my hands,
Are shifting like tide-water over the sands.
I’m meeting the eyes of the panic I knew,
And finding the courage to finally push through.

No longer a captive to "what if" or "why,"
I’m lifting my chin, I am holding my head high.
The climb may be jagged, the summit may loom,
But I am the fire that’s breaking the gloom.

I’m conquering stillness, I’m claiming my space,
With iron in rhythm and truth in my pace.
The fear is a footnote, the struggle is past—
I’m standing upright, and I’m rising at last.
