misfit

Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Life is full of seasons. This is a season of transition for me, where I will be moving with my family to a new location. As such, with much logistics to consider, I am doing my best to keep up. Please know if I accidentally don't respond, it is not because I am ghosting or becoming distant. Once things settle after the move, I am sure life will return to some normalcy. In the meantime, and always:

how can i fit
when i wasn’t
made that shape?

how can i fit?
why should i

fit?

and
why have a fit
when one doesn’t fit
a container in which
you should sit?

honestly,
the notion has me lit
not high—but with grit—
i declare,
you might not like this bit,

you can take
that mold
and fill it with

shit.

  • Friendship

Your poem is powerful and speaks of not fitting in a world that has changed. Your poem revolves around the struggle for individuality and the rejection of societal norms and expectations. The poet questions the necessity and desire to conform to predefined molds or roles ("how can I fit when i wasn’t made that shape?"). Your poem addresses themes of identity, self-acceptance, and defiance against external pressures to conform.

Thank you, Friendship… I really appreciate you sitting with this and taking it in like that. Yeah… there’s definitely that friction of not bending just to belong. I’m glad that tension came through clearly. 🧱🔥🫀🙏

    • Teddy.15

Take the mold and fill it with shit... Bloody well said!

      • Tristan Robert Lange

Haha, my friend… yeah, that one came from a place where I was just done softening things. Sometimes blunt is the only honest language left. Appreciate you appreciating it, dearest Teddy. 🧱🔥🫀🙏

        • Teddy.15

Best way to say it ever and it's something I myself would say for sure. 💜

The social demand to fit what one is not meant to is high and such pressure presses many into uncomfortable containers. I'm with you be yourself and society will need to find new packaging. Well written my friend and a fave

          • Tristan Robert Lange

Soren, I really appreciate this… you captured that pressure and the need to stop reshaping people to fit it. That idea of new packaging instead… yeah, that’s the direction forward. Glad this spoke to you and very thankful for the fave, my friend. 🧱🔥🫀🙏

              My pleasure my friend

We should not try to "fit" into others expectations of us "the mold." We are to honor self. This is my interpretation. Well written!

              • Tristan Robert Lange

Thank you, Katie… I really appreciate you sharing that. Yeah, honoring self instead of shrinking into someone else’s expectation… that’s right at the heart of it. Glad it spoke to you. 🧱🔥🫀🙏

This poem appears to revolve around identity and its being a fluid construct then deals with not-belonging, turning into questioning the need to belong at all, and ends by rejecting the system that demands conformity in the first place. 🕊️🙏

Thank you, my friend. Spot on. Much appreciated.. 🧱🔥🫀🙏

One says - glug - we knows him - that he can perfectly fit inside a giant tin of spinach. When he's ate all the spinach, of course.
I'm gonna fill that mould with, erm..... clay. lol.

You've inspired me to share my delinquent evolved for tomorrow. I will never fit in and was never ment to. Like one of my biggest heroes said. I am not here to live up to your expectations and you are not here to live up to mine. Be water my friend.~Bruce Lee
