Babylon

Fränz Müller

Like the whore of Babylon

that rode upon the beast,

I dare say the world today

presents a sinner’s feast!

E’ry urge and every whim

revealed within a scroll

the mind is tossed and hours lost

begin to take their toll.

Soon, within you’re feeling thin

with mind awash with fear;

with one more click, you’ll feed the sick

and soul doth disappear!

    Nicely rhymed and metered this poem has an old biblical feel to values

    Well done. Your poem addresses themes of temptation, excess, and the psychological toll of modern life, emphasizing how easy access to indulgent distractions can lead to a deterioration of mental and spiritual well-being.
