learning to linger

Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Life is full of seasons. This is a season of transition for me, where I will be moving with my family to a new location. As such, with much logistics to consider, I am doing my best to keep up. Please know if I accidentally don't respond, it is not because I am ghosting or becoming distant. Once things settle after the move, I am sure life will return to some normalcy. In the meantime, and always:

Tristan 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
i need to learn how to abide
in times i want to run away.
in times when i cannot provide,
i need to learn how to abide—
to go inside and find my guide—
i need to walk a calmer way.
i need to seek how to abide,
in times i start to run away.

    How deep
    The shackles of self-disbelief
    Grip the one
    Who seeks the Sun
    The ultimate test
    Lets not rest
    In our quest
    To live lightly
    Not take ourselves
    Or life too seriously.

    Great write, Tristan!

Haha…“The ultimate test / Lets not rest” feels painfully accurate some days, Mutley. The mind loves turning everything into another exam to survive. Always appreciate you stopping by, my friend. 🌿🕯️☀️🙏

A powerful poem. Your poem revolves around the struggle to remain grounded and calm during challenging times. The poet expresses a desire to learn how to "abide" in moments of distress or uncertainty, indicating a need for inner guidance and resilience. You focus on themes of self-reflection, emotional turmoil, and the pursuit of peace amidst chaos.

Thank you so much, my friend…that really is the heart of it honestly. Sometimes the hardest thing in the world is simply staying present instead of bolting the second things get heavy. 🌿🕯️☀️🙏

        Good write, enjoyed

I thought this would be summat like: A lingering sound, ominous, terrifying, (the sensible bit, then it turns daft)..... a glug from somewhere, we hear. Do we know from where? Of course we do, but WCAT any further! lol.

        • Tristan Robert Lange

Orchi…somewhere out there Popeyeus Glug Maxiumus Solus stirs from beneath the ancient depths once more…the lingering has become glugurgical in nature. WCAT investigators remain reluctant to, well, answer . 😂 🌿🕯️☀️🙏

          • orchidee

Aww, they can't tell us, those WCAT investigators. We'll never know! lol.

Don't we all need to learn this living amidst stress everyday. Well written my friend

Soren, I really think we do honestly…the world teaches us to react fast, escape fast, numb fast. Lingering calmly feels almost rebellious now. Always grateful for you, my friend. 🌿🕯️☀️🙏

              • sorenbarrett

You are most welcome my friend

              • Salvia.S

Form's tight and the heart's tighter. This one's staying with me. Beautifully written dearest Tittu ❤️!!! You said a lot in 8 lines!!! A fave 🌹

                • Tristan Robert Lange

Thank you Salvia, that means a whole lot honestly. I kept stripping this one down further and further hoping the weight would still remain. Grateful it stayed with you, dearest friend! 🌿🕯️☀️🙏

                • Teddy.15

Escaping ones self hard to do it's like chasing your tail! Lovely poetry. 🌹

                  • Tristan Robert Lange

Teddy, honestly…that’s exactly it. You end up exhausted and somehow still standing in the same place you started. Thank you so much, my friend. 🌿🕯️☀️🙏

                  • Neville

Blindingly brilliant title mate & what tagged along behind wasn't that far behind at all .. 🐦‍⬛🖤😎👍

                    • Tristan Robert Lange

Neville...that genuinely means a lot, mate. Really appreciate you. 🌿🕯️☀️🙏

                    • Poetic Dan

Loved this but I'll ment abide by anything I don't want to do! Always put up a fight. Harmony comes when no feelings are hidden. Inspirational stuff 👏

                      • Tristan Robert Lange

Dan...I actually really like that distinction honestly. Abiding doesn’t have to mean becoming passive or voiceless. Sometimes the real harmony comes from finally being honest about what’s actually happening inside instead of burying it. Really appreciate your thoughts, my friend. 🌿🕯️☀️🙏

                      • arqios

Need those too. That’s so true. 🙏🏻🕊️💪🏻

                        • Tristan Robert Lange

Arqios...I think a whole lot of us do honestly. The running comes naturally...the lingering usually has to be learned the hard way. Really appreciate you, my friend. 🌿🕯️☀️🙏

                          • arqios

Brings to mind that hiatus in what could barely be called my college career, in the midst of running… standing at the kitchen sink doing dishes in silent company at a cousin’s house in the country. The first lingering in my life. And it stayed. 🙏🏻🕊️
