Goodbye To Love

Kurt Philip Behm

Goodbye To Love

I traipsed through the night

and the morning dew

To open my heart

stars crossing in queue

And left on your doorstep

 blooming anew

A floral surrender

— of loves adieu

**

The Delta’s Gulf

Rivers of chaos

flow into oceans

of harmony ...

Leaving the torrent

in the delta’s gulf

— for peace and depth

**

New Feelings

Poetry defies

explanation

Perhaps its greatest

strength

New feeling’s unfelt

emerging unspelt

 Present

— in the words

**

Dark Dismay

Spurned and left dejected

his heart in disarray

Falling from love’s precipice

into dark dismay

Trapped beneath the anguish

without a last goodbye

Buried in rejected shame

— wishing he could die

**

Pray

Hoping for fame

a slave to its portal

Praying for truth

— its blessings immortal

**

The elusive yet sought after. Rousing read. 🕊️🙏

Well Kurt there seems again a link between these verses of a love felt lost and its resolution in the following verses. I can not but help thinking that there is method in the madness of such linked rhymes. Well done

Thanks. They were written at different times yesterday but there probably
      is a subliminal connection.

        Most welcome Kurt

Nicely written, Kurt. Your poems explore themes of love, loss, introspection, and the search for meaning. Each section delves into different aspects of emotional experiences, from the beauty and pain of love ("Goodbye To Love" and "Dark Dismay") to the complexity of emotions and the power of poetry itself ("New Feelings"). The poem reflects a journey through various emotional landscapes, highlighting the contrasting feelings of joy and sorrow that are intertwined with human experiences.

Kurt, there’s such emotional range moving through these pieces...longing, surrender, reflection, despair, even that final reaching toward something lasting. “Goodbye To Love” (the title sent the Carpenter's song through my head) and “Dark Dismay” especially hit hard for me. Powerful collection, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thanks. Karen Carpenters voice was pure magic.
