How often do you check if you’re sane
If your words still make sense?
I asked “Define sane?
Could you use it in a sentence?”
Sane is of clear mind
Will uninfluenced, capacity intact
Sane is obedient
To law, to order
To society’s predetermined fate and color
It’s always
Never look thin, never be fat
Don’t be too wealthy, but never be without
You should lead, but have no ego
Be led, but be confident
Defile the system when you must
Don’t look too pretty, but don’t fully let go
Be a girl’s girl and yet have bounderies set close
Never stand in the way of others but always think of yourself
At the end of the day, it isn’t just about you but the good of others
So I ask again, “Define sane”
Am I sane if I live for others?
And does it make me any less if I think of myself?
Is it the appearance or assets
That makes one sane and another lesser?
Would I need to count to 3
To prove adequacy?
Or maybe 5 so all you see is ability?
The thin line between sane or not
So faded and destroyed
At this point, one can’t tell what is sane no more.
