Fables

Fränz Müller

Who is it you say you are

when the dark is creeping in?

Who is the hero in your fable

in a fight they cannot win?

Who is the damsel in distress

with a smile and deadly aim?

Who is the joker in your deck

that fixes every game?

These stories that we tell ourselves

are the stories of our lives,

and the characters that we find within

do the heart and mind devise.

So write your script, and tell your tale

and be the starring role;

for if we cannot be ourselves,

should we bow when the credits roll?

    What a great poem with a great message. The rhyme is good and the last lines made the poem. A fave
