Television

Kevin Hulme

I can watch TV at anytime,

Throughout the day would suit me fine.

And late at Night I'm often seen,

Sitting for Hours by the Giant Screen.

But it's a Solumn fact you must believe-

If you switched it ON,  I would have to leave.

Is it the control or the choice of program that is the issue. Well written

Apart from the Odd Documentary , Film etc : It's Reality TV I can't abide. 'The Other Bennet Sister' was worth the TV Licence alone. Yes we have to have a Licence for a TV.
      Thank you for Reading.

I have gone further and haven't watched any TV in over two years

So You must pay a license fee to watch tv, much of it garbage? The blank screen has the ability to clarify the mind, I would hope.. Does an agency like Fair Trading exist there? Or link to your PC and seek out a You tube kaleidoscope or any thing other than Reality TV.
Can't find anything funny in this at all.....πŸ˜‚

You have to pay for a Licence or the BBC will want to know why. But there are increasing Numbers that are not getting one. Never do You tube or Social media.
As long as I have a Book , I'm happy.
          Thank you for Reading.

Same here, it's more part of the furniture and interior decoration. πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™πŸ“Ί

            Yes, your quite right.
Also I remember watching - in the 60s - an Australian series called 'The Magic Boomerang'. Good Memories. Thank you for Reading.

Kevin, this is wonderfully done πŸ˜‚ The whole thing strolls along so innocently and conversationally that the final turn catches perfectly. β€œIf you switched it ON, I would have to leave” completely flips the poem in one move. Clever, playful, and really well paced, my friend. πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

Thank you . It's more Off than On.
              Appreciate your time Reading it.
