Blue-eyed stranger

Poet's Dream

Dear stranger

It was nice to see you again

You're grown now and have so many friends

You're handsome and tall

Blue eyed stranger

We used to know each other

Like I know my own name

I used to know you better

But now you won't tell me a damn thing

I knew you for years the second we met

I should've had known it was fake, a play set

Bright painted scenery to hide the real lines

That were being said

Though I could see you loved me, dear stranger

Why was it so hard to say?

Tell me, blue-eyed stranger

What exactly was in your way?

We've been through this before

I used to be in the spotlight with you

Laughing loudly with our unspoken love

But that is no more

Your still in the spotlight, spinning

With her

And I am nothing

This is your world and I am nothing to you

Except a background character
