Selfish Grace

Poet's Dream

We think we are wise

We think that we know

That we've unlocked the secrets of life

We think we have learned our lesson

But look at the world around

Poverty and hunger

Shells scattered upon the ground

We scream that we're free

Dressed in sugar and lace

Ignoring the truth, wrapped in selfish grace

Our world is shrinking, our island is small

Civilization has turned, and we're losing it all

The world has shrunk considerably with technology and increased population now it seems too small. Nicely written
