China poem 10-11: Poplar Tree; Pear Flowers Fall

CH-10 白杨树   197703xx; 197907xx

Oh you the poplar tree
How simple, yet how natural and poised you are
Full of the juice of life
Your trunk is iron, your character steel
When spring comes
You open your arms and bare your bosom
When winter comes
Your eyes stare at the world, cold as lead
Oh, poplar tree
Proudly,
You stand in the north of my country

The pear blossoms have fallen
The white petals float into the distance
Falling into the fields
Falling into the pond
Lost the veil of holiness
Lost the simple plain dress

The pear blossoms have fallen
The white petals float into the distance
Parting from other flowers
With calmness in conscience

Leaving so lonely
Leaving in such a hurry

The pear blossoms have fallen
The white petals float into the distance
I ask the pear blossoms
“Are you be sad?”
“Don't you see the green mountains and hills
And the vast flat plains
The pines and cypresses are green
And the spring breeze is fragrant?

The pear blossoms have fallen
The white petals float into the distance
Here is a message to a friend:
Don't be melancholic
Because the flowers flew away
But a piece of fragrance remains
