One thing writers don't talk about
Is the perpetual loneliness that comes.
From being around people who don't read,
From having a world we can't talk about.
Stop, that's enough, change the topic.
It's boring, not my style, too tragic.
God, how many writers have heard this nonsense,
We have too many universes.
And nobody talks about how it feels like failing,
When people measure your love for your characters by word counts,
When they care more about grammar than my art.
Yes, it is a terrifying feeling.
