Horrible Bosses

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Who cares about chasing a worthless career?

Is that really why we've been placed down here?

I've been working at some companies in my time,

When you first start off there, everything is nice and fine.

True colours rear their head eventually, it's annoying,

Office games, weakest ones fear the bullying.

Feel like I've outgrown that messed up hellscape,

All these fucking companies do is take and take.

Horrible bosses with no people skills, the pecking order of misery,

If the higher ups give them stress it's passed down to you and me.

You can work your best and hardest but it's never good enough,

We're seen as numbers and not individuals, if you don't like it, tough!

The state of companies run by stock holders that value the bottom line and profits earned over human beings whether workers or customers. Well written

Exactly, case and point Katsuhiro Harada who has recently left Namco / the Tekken team and moved to SNK and got his own gaming studio through them as he was undervalued.

Gaming off my board of familiarity leaves me in the dust

My friend, “the pecking order of misery” is such a sharp phrase. It perfectly captures how stress and dysfunction cascade downward in toxic workplaces. Strong line in a strong poem, Shaun. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
