Internal/external
I lay here in the dark
Thinking about challenges
What sets men apart
Why battles are internal
How the mind guards the heart
Words have power
Each has a zone
Lives manipulated
Not really our own
The external is governed
By who sits on the throne
Why do you care my lover
The press is full
The vats overflow
It never was external
Did anybody know?

Well written this flows in metaphor the squeezed juice that ferments in the barrel. Well done
I'll drink to that!
I'll take a cup as well
Valiantstar, this reads like a late-night philosophical spiral in the best sense. Power, manipulation, identity, thought, emotion…it all keeps folding inward until the ending quietly questions whether the struggle was ever external at all. Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Powerful, well written!
