An Optimistic Overture

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Always trying to look up,

Would you rather look down?

There's no such thing as luck,

Please stop with the frown.

The brightness blocked again,

I await it's soon to come return,

Just stop, listen and learn.

Writing an optimistic overture,

The sad reality is pain and gore,

Newsreaders speak about aliens and war,

Nothing new under the Sun, happened before.

A good read about things as they are and trying to represent them accurately

Shaun, this has a reflective, slightly weary honesty to it. Hope keeps trying to push through, but the world keeps answering back with war, fear, and repetition. “Nothing new under the Sun” closes the piece with a strong resigned wisdom. Amen. Well done on this. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
