While These Words May Not Be Perfect

While These Words May Not Be Perfect

these words may not be perfect,

but they are my words

and they are meant just for you ..

I wrote them first thing

before first light and the dawn hit ..

only moments ahead

of the doves and the blackbirds

in the garden began their

tuning up for a brand new days

rejoicing and recital ..

that was after I kissed your sleepy

forehead and I said

I don’t know how many times that

I love you too darling ..

and I meant that, more than anything ..

Neville, this has such a gentle dawn-lit tenderness to it. Sleepy foreheads, birds beginning their songs, whispered love before sunrise…it all creates a beautiful portrait of affection rooted in ordinary devotion. Lovely piece, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
