While These Words May Not Be Perfect
these words may not be perfect,
but they are my words
and they are meant just for you ..
I wrote them first thing
before first light and the dawn hit ..
only moments ahead
of the doves and the blackbirds
in the garden began their
tuning up for a brand new days
rejoicing and recital ..
that was after I kissed your sleepy
forehead and I said
I don’t know how many times that
I love you too darling ..
and I meant that, more than anything ..

Ohhh, I expect they are perfect! lol.
very nearly almost in my most humble and honest opinion .. Neville
Why, yes, I brag, only you and I are perfect! lol.
Neville, this has such a gentle dawn-lit tenderness to it. Sleepy foreheads, birds beginning their songs, whispered love before sunriseβ¦it all creates a beautiful portrait of affection rooted in ordinary devotion. Lovely piece, my friend. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬

A most tender love poem Neville. Well composed it starts with the dawn and nature stirring that seems to mimic the stirring of the human form just before awakening. The thought left for the sleeping is dream like and passes like a dream while still lingering in the mind. Well done my friend a fave
You are far too generous soren but believe me I like it .. Thanks tons my friend .. Neville
My pleasure Neville
...except that I...
No exceptions in my book & not on my watch .. My word sir, wot do you take me for .. Neville π
'Twas a thought Sir, produced by virtue of the context of your poem.... disclose the identity of this fellow who before dawn writes his sleeping lover a note and does a moonlight... I demand you reveal the identity of this cad in order that I may don my shining armour and seek satisfaction on behalf of all wronged maidens everywhere...
I didn't take you for a do gooder Dave you old dog .. you are indeed a credit to your species sir .. twas me bruvva ππββ¬π

Feels like a quiet morning promise spoken before the world wakes up, soft and unguarded,
Thereβs a steadiness in itβlove set down simply, like something true enough it doesnβt need decoration.
Many thanks for your most considered & heart warming review Thomas .. Neville
