Surrender
stoops in darkness
Defeat
its noble kin
Valor weeps
on bended knee
Honor lost
— when blood runs thin
***
The Pen
Words attack
the armor
of every
given age
To right the wrongs
all shields prolong
their pen attacks
— with rage
***
Leaving Old Choices
Tunneling out
of mortality
Inching my way
toward the light
Leaving old choices
of dire repute
Trading ill fortune
— for heaven’s delight

There is a sense of moving on in the series of poems that is culminated in the last. Well done Kurt
Appreciated, thanks.
Most welcome
Kurt, this collection moves through surrender, resistance, and transcendence with a prayer-like cadence. Blood, armor, pens, tunnels, mortality, and light all work together to create a deeply contemplative atmosphere. Thoughtful and moving work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Gifted praise again, and I thank you.
