Wings of flame carve through the midnight sky,
The Akhekh cries where the desert sleeps,
Its shadow burns where mortals dare to lie.
No mortal charm can make its fury shy,
The sand is scorched where the black fire creeps,
Wings of flame carve through the midnight sky.
Its talons clutch where the weak cannot fly,
And silence groans where the empty valley weeps,
Its shadow burns where mortals dare to lie.
The stars retreat as its flaming feathers sigh,
The air ignites where the cursed wind sweeps,
Wings of flame carve through the midnight sky.
Beware the land where its burning gaze draws nigh,
Death follows swift where the Akhekh leaps,
Its shadow burns where mortals dare to lie.
So fear the bird that makes the heavens cry,
The desert trembles where its fire seeps,
Wings of flame carve through the midnight sky,
Its shadow burns where mortals dare to lie.

Lovely a poem with a cascading style presenting the mythical creature who as a metaphor serves as a destroying angel and harbinger of ill. Well written loved it
