Butterflies

maddie_writes

No, I’m not talking about regular butterflies

or the type you get when you tell lies

neither when you feel nervous

nor when you feel perturb-ous

I dare wager you would’ve fathomed it by now

the type of butterflies I get;

are the ones you endow

whenever I walk along the paths you fret

the heart cannot convince the brain

about how perfect you are

my soul alone cannot accept it again

that I have gaze upon you from afar

it's like time stops

the only thing in motion is my beating heart

and my shaking hands

the pumping heart ready at any moment, to plop out

a single eye contact, and your smile is printed in my brain

it's so beautiful, it’s so insane, that I found you, so divine

I imagine us dancing alluringly in the rain

but sadly to you,I’m just a moonshine

i  speak, and they scatter

he laughs, and they swarm

every glance, every word

a thunderstorm in soft form

his presence and suddenly

my stomach is a garden riot

not roses, not tulips

just butterflies, active and defiant

so yes, you give me butterflies every single time

I know it sounds super cliché

god I just wish that you were mine

without any delay
