Against the Grain

Kora

I challenge the waves,
With something to prove,
Current whipping me
In all directions,
I will swim against
The grain, if it kills me,
Careless water
You do not own me,
I may be soft,
But I am strong,
You are not my God.

A most interesting poem where swimming against the current is taken as going against the crowd. In nature swimming against the current is not advised exhausting the swimmer and so it may do socially as well but such bravery is often admired. Well written
