The Mystic Magic King

by: Madalyn S Lullenberg.

The Mystic Magic King

Takes a drag off his cigarette
under the hot summer sky.

He talks wildly to me,
as if all he’s ever wanted
in this life
was to impress me.

He drives reckless.
I don’t say anything
because what could I say?

When we’re together
at times he acts
like he owns the place.

As if he was Jim Morrison
in another life.

More like
a Humbert character.

Pushing and pulling
until I cannot take
any more.

Mystic.
Magical.
Tormenting.

The poetic description of a narcissist with little concern for others. A maverick but one that attracts people he can abuse. Well written

Thank you! I wrote this on the fly. I think I wrote this like what within three minutes? I don’t spend a lot of time writing poetry to be honest. Thank you, again.
