But daintily
The raindrops dance
Upon windows sill
A sweet romance
A hidden hand
Conducts the flow
Its three months since
You left you know.
Many mornings
Such as this
Ive reminisced
About your kiss
A candle lit
In silent air
Your coat still hangs
Upon the stair.
A morning coffee
A cigarette
Left to wonder
Why you left
The hours pass
In disarray
Lonely still
The heartstrings play.

Norman, this really moved me. The quiet grief in this piece feels so intimate and lived-inβ¦not dramatic, just deeply present in the ordinary details of the morning. That lingering absence hangs over every line. Beautiful work, my friend. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
