blame-shifting,when someone ignores their own toxic behavior, starts a problem, and then blames you for having a normal reaction to their disrespect.When they try to make you look like the problem to avoid accountability, it is also a manipulation tactic known as gaslighting. This behavior may be driven by projection, where someone unconsciously accuses you of the very same negativity they are putting off.
