LETTER HOME

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

I told you
In my letter home
If it does not bleed
I will not read
Each word to weep
Upon a lonely street
Each strangers voice
My soul to keep.

Its fiery passion
To light the sky
Each raindrop
Or impassioned cry
Each  deep injustice
Imprisoned flame
That calls to silence
Deep disdain.

The froth of life
To boiling point
Verse ignored
Without a voice
Each individual
Denied a vote
My letter home
A poetical note.

Letters like any writing ignored is painful. Very nicely written

Such letters are priceless. Too many letters are written unpoetically. Much enjoyed read. 🕊️🙏

So you were at a bus stop somewhere and had to write a letter home in case the bus didn't turn up to take you home. lol.

Norman, what a powerful poem. There’s real fire in this...not just emotionally, but morally too. The lines about injustice and silence carry weight, and that “imprisoned flame” imagery lingers long after the read. It feels like a defense of poetry as something living and necessary...something that still refuses to look away. Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
