Pilgrim

Kevin Michael Bloor

I wade through fields of green and glades of gold,
as lambs with twitching tails skip from the fold.
The swifts and swallows swoop and swirl above,
as blood-red rays shed dear Aurora’s love.
The leaves are shivering in the summer breeze,
as busy birds frequent the trembling trees.
The chimes are ringing in the old bell tower
to mark the time of day, each passing hour...

And I will not insult this day of grace
by wearing sorrow’s sadness on my face.
I’ll smile when clouds of blessing bring the rain,
and though the world’s a melting pot of pain
I’ll not forget the beauty still around!
So, ‘neath the starlit sky that makes no sound
I’ll trust, all lost in wonder, as I roam:
a pilgrim, bound for my eternal home.

Nicely written. Your poem explores themes of gratitude, resilience, and the spiritual journey towards an eternal home.

A most beautiful write in metaphor of one's life journey where recognition and gratitude are part of the path. Very nice
