Inquisitive

Neil Higgins

Sunlight stole a kiss at twilight.

Filtered through a baptism of rain.

Piercing the wind's icy fingers.

Plotting mayhem, only it understood.

A silent invitation to the depths,

a dare for the inquisitive soul.

Within, the weight of yesterday lingered.

Ghosts smile.

Such an insidious embrace.

A realisation blooming.
