The art of being alone

Isa

"Alone"

Even as a word it stands on it's own

To be "lone" is quite the art

Easy yet hard and that's a fact

Coded in intent or enshrined in mystery

To be "lone" is quite the art

A lone wolf is so with intent

Yet misery is said to make for good

 company.

Solitary can be a choice,

and yet one can find that it's not quite their choice.

They say you can pin the art to the artist,

yet in this art they are so many artists.

      Thank you 😊

Well written it is thought provoking but at least partially true in that each person has a choice. To live alone is a bit of an art where there is loss and gain. Well written

Isa…there’s something quietly thoughtful about this piece that I really enjoyed. The repetition of “To be ‘lone’ is quite the art” gives the poem a reflective, almost meditative rhythm. It feels like someone trying to untangle the difference between chosen solitude and painful isolation. Strong work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

solitude can either mean being content with one's self and thoughts, or shunning/being shunned - it is upto oneself to choose what it can be...
