Walking through the door, the weight settles in
The quiet is welcoming at first,
You breathe a sigh of relief
This is your place of comfort,
Your retreat
But the walls you’ve built to keep the noise out,
Begin to resonate in this chamber
The silence is growing ever louder, and you wonder
What breaks the quiet
So you make the noises, and the stillness retreats
And the confusion sets in again.
All you need is a moment, where the two meet
Clarity and quiet,
Serenity and soundlessness
But those two are embattled divorcees
Never to occupy the same space
