The Beautiful Truth

Fathima Shaw

 So Painful yet so peaceful

So, grim yet so beautiful

Dangerous but so inviting

Countless ways to invite us

Sometimes slow, sometimes quick

Used to resent it but now I crave it

Every day, the desire soars more and more

Denied its invitation once

But now slowly changing my mind

With every passing second

Pondered, I did

Whether the world would perceive that

I accepted his invitation

Would they look for me

As I danced in his arms

They say his twin is a beautiful lie

And that he is the ugly truth

But I differ

From what I have seen

Life is an ugly lie

And Death is the beautiful truth

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem on a random day during my worst times. This is the first ever poem I ever written. I am usually a story person but after writing this poem I started loving poetry. This is my most loved and favorite poem I have written so far. I hope you all will enjoy it too

A great juxtaposition of opposites it speaks of a different perspective. Nicely worded
