The tender sun
Rests on her skin,
Pushing through
The dappled ceiling,
It kisses the bruise
She found this morning,
She shivers
At the warmth,
Unfamilar.
The leaves glisten,
Cascading into
The space around her,
Their dancing ceases
As they blanket the earth
On which she stands,
The birds begin to sing,
A song her heart
Remembers.
Soon she will return
To her gilded cage,
But for now she is still,
Her lungs inhaling
Pine-soaked air,
Her feet rooted to the soil,
In the arms of the forest,
Time does not exist,
All are made eternal,
Her heart beats wildly,
For she is free.

Very nicely written in allegory and metaphor it speaks of freedom in a different way. Well done
