You were the one who steered the ship
You'd pick me up when I'd slip
You were the one who lead the way
Life with you is fun everyday
You were the sun on a cloud filled day
Because of you we never lost our way
When things went wrong like they do
I could count on you to always come through
Your smile would light the night
You calmed a soul once filled with fright
I could always count on you
Life's setbacks were very few
You always read between the lines
You were my rock in changing times
