Let People Rest In Peace
For the soul has crossed release
And the weight they carried daily
Has been folded into ease.
Let the whispers fade to stillness
Let the rumors find their end
God has taken every illness
Every wound He came to mend
Let the quiet be their shelter
Let the silence be their crown
Heaven lifted them to altars
Where no earthly hands reach down.
Let the living rest in mercy
Let the past at last decrease
God has buried what once hurt them
So their spirit can increase
Let the light that holds them holy
Be the light that sets you free
For the peace God gives the fallen
Is the peace He keeps for thee
And when grief begins its echo
When your questions never cease
Trust the One who guards their journey
He alone restores release
He alone completes the story
He alone grants perfect peace
