In The Night

I heard a crash of thunder

As it woke up the night

Looking out my window

I saw a flash of light

 

As the bolts of lightning

Split the mid-night sky

It resembled daylight

Being brought alive

 

The pounding of the rain

So constant and true

Pounded like my heart

Every time I think of you
