Stand with yourself

Samuel Potsane

1. So come on, welcome yourself.

2. Accept yourself; the stars and moon wrote light into your feet.

3. Have some; this belief is the favourite dish made for you.

4. I have a cloth for your tongue—speak light to yourself.

5. Joy breathes in your eyes; happiness lives inside you.

6. Have this yard full of roses; see, not everything is ugly.

7. Visit yourself to see that all things are possible.

8. Borrow your mother's heart; you'll need that blanket.

9. You have seen so much that even your eyes think they need a stick.

10. How can you truly live without a crack?

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem to tell people that we are humans and we deserve to be humans. Nothing is wrong with you, you might be going through something it doesn't matter more than your light.
