The Present Is What Counts

mylastwrites

I will never stand in judgement

Of things you've done in the past

What we share right now

Is a love I want to last

I have no right to question you

For what you did years ago

The past should stay in the past

As we watch our future grow

I will always stand with you

Regardless of the past

What you did in your younger years

To me, shall always remain masked

  • Comment from author about the poem: I never judge anyone on their past. I have a past from when I was young and stupid. My past was overlooked and I wound up having a great career along with a great retirement.

A lovely write and so well said. Commendable but I believe it should be masked not unmasked

Thanks. Being new here is there a way to correct a poem once it published?
