The gulf between
the man that I am
and the man that I should be
has an immeasurable span,
a treacherous, turbulent divide!
The right way seems
scribbled on a faded map
where the deep dragons dream
and the sea pours over the edge
into an airless eternity.
The wrong way seems
the well-worn path
through familiar meadows
shaded by trees
ready to hang me
from their gnarled branches!
My compass is broken
the glass, cracked
the needle, a weapon
that can protect or slay;
I seek answers, and comfort
and a guide to light my way!

Wowwwwwwwwww, amazing
Thank you so much!
Fränz, this hit me hard. The struggle here feels painfully human...knowing where you want to go while feeling uncertain how to get there. There’s an honesty in this that lands immediately. Powerful poem, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
