They planted a seed once,
Watered it in the beginning,
Watched it start to grow.
but then
They planted another
A prettier one,
a flower this time
And somehow,
the old seed was forgotten.
All the water, all the care
was given to the new bloom,
While the old one,
Struggle silently beneath the soil...
Days passed
One day, they remember
"This seed exist too"
But by then,
it was too late for care
Too late for the water..
The seed had learned
To grow on its own
No longer waiting
No longer longing
Stronger
Wiser
And now,
they call it arrogance...

Arrogance is nothing more than the speaker feeling envy. Such a lovely poem parable with the metaphor giving a lesson. Seed personified is an example of one pulling themselves up by their bootstraps and being belittled for it envied for it and labeled. Very nicely done.
Thank you so much, these words means a lot!
It is my pleasure Antra
Antra, what a powerful metaphor. The contrast between the forgotten seed and the carefully tended flower carries the emotional weight of the poem beautifully. I especially love the ending…how the very independence forged through neglect is later misread as arrogance. That final turn lands with real force. Great job on this, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Yes thank youuuuuu!
And so, it struggled, ill-remembered
yet grows sustained by others,
it exists even in adversity
but not to the whim of shifting shadows.
Yes, thanks for your words
Most welcome 🙏🕊️
