The Spring of Compassion
Tears shed in solitude,
for the pain and suffering of a human being—
unseen and unknown,
are purer than any spring;
tears that
burn the face,
and burn the soul.

This is most thought provoking and causes one to ponder if refers to all such tears, the one of the speaker or of another.
Thank you, dear Soren, for your thoughtful reading. The tears are meant to belong to any sympathetic heart and waking conscience. I am glad the ambiguity invited reflection.
You are most welcome Soheil
