A hellish
nightmare
or heaven’s
dream
A Poets
choice
the virgin’s
scream
Prison
waits
all hope
recalled
With heart
despondent
if I dream
small
Freedom’s
sleep
my one
repast
All shadows
banished
new questions
asked
Where fortune
trades
the moment
clean
For one
more chance
at sight
unseen
— To live renewed in heaven’s dream —

This is a good one Kurt to me it speaks of that common thought (that if I could only try one more time) give me another chance. Nicely said my friend
My inspiration was Cervantes.
Loved Don Quixote even more in Spanish
Kurt, this speaks to that place many of us visit from time to time…caught between what is and what might be. I found myself drawn to the tension between dreaming small and daring to imagine something larger. The poem holds that space wonderfully. Great job on this, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Again, your words carry great weight. Thank you.
Yes, "for one more chance at sight unseen"! That's worth it all 🕊️🙏
Amen ! Thanks.
