It All Happens Today

Katie B.

The echo of yesterday

Enlightens me of shortfalls

Captive to the past

Yearning for tomorrow

The flurry of what may come

Grasps for nonexistence

Today rattles

Stuck in yesterday and tomorrow

Never to be captured

Letting go

Embracing the present

A moment suffices

The present

Bleeds with possibilities

We allow

Indeed tis so Katie it is in that slice of present that all possibilities exist. Nicely written

Katie, this resonates with me because I've certainly spent days replaying old conversations while simultaneously worrying about things that haven't even happened yet. Meanwhile, the present quietly slips by. Your poem captures that dynamic beautifully. Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
