Crimson Red

not_defined

What a beautiful fresh coat of paint

Trickling down my bedroom wall

A lifetime sprayed with refined accuracy

In a flash that no one could've ever saw

Crimson red

Its unlike any other color

Mesmerized by its quality

As I lay motionless in wonder

It glimmers and stings

What's left races in my head

Clenching my brush in my hand

My magnum opus is my end

Did it have to end this way?

Did I have to take it this far?

All my thoughts spill beside me

So fuzzy and warm

A minute turns into eternity

Gazing at my canvas

I'm left paralyzed by shock

There is no room to savor this

I'm slipping into a daydream

One so distant and cold

Each beat of my heart quickens

As memories flash of a life I stole

My eyes lock on my painting

It's the last of my sight

Illuminated by a withering flame

I fade from my fragile light

Did it have to end this way?

Did I have to take it this far?

All my thoughts spill beside me

So fuzzy and warm
