The Pen (Is) a Problem

A nude woman

is greeted with adoration

celebration

while a nude man

is greeted with consternation

separation.

The nude woman

is celebrated

adored

graceful, beautiful, desired.

The nude man

is hated 

rejected

unwelcome, ugly, chastised.

A double standard,

sure

but it’s the way it is

so, we must

endure.

    There is a message in this that gos deeper. Equality is never equal for all are different. One my protest the unfairness of it but the universe has a different standard of justice. Well written and a fave

    Fränz, what struck me most is the mirrored structure. By placing the two experiences side by side, the poem creates its argument through contrast rather than explanation. That simplicity gives the piece its impact. Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
