demise at the well

arqios

"Demise of the Well"

It is a quiet execution, parsec by parsec.
The gravity that once held our bones to the deck
does not snap like a cable; it simply starves,

fading from a brilliant, crushing architecture
into the weak, extending centrifugal implosion

of unremembered tremor.

Out here, the well has finally dried—

and we watch, in the weightless dark,
as the very law that bound us to your centre
silently folds its hands and dies.

It would be too drole to say this is deep Cryptic. Instead I will say that there is a clever involvement of physics in this poem parsec by parsec or a one second angle in an orbit's rotation where centrifugal force is mentioned in this spin as is gravity where mass determines gravity that holds our bones to the floor. As it goes onward it seems to relate to propagation and saying that the well has dried or one might say has gone barren. Interesting that in Portuguese the word gravity is related to the word for pregnancy. This force that holds us together or gravity dies. With such we would just float away. Enough rambling my friend

Wow, Arqios, this is hauntingly beautiful! The collapse unfolds without violence, leaving everything once held together to drift into darkness. It works powerfully as cosmic death and relational loss. Exceptional write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thanks, Tittu. There are those moments when a poem rises from what is happening, an existentially aware but not collapsed sense that doesn't prescribe metaphysics. And to feel the void whilst being allowed to feel it is to feel alive. 🤩🙏🕊️🎈
