THE LEGACY OF MANKIND

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

When night ends
Dawn revived
Dried the tears
Mankind cried
Its cheeks of red
Its skin now dry
Eternity blinked
An unforgiving eye.

In self destruction
With acid clouds
Mans reluctance
Ignorant and loud
His rivers dried
To infested pools
His arrogance
Self denying fools.

Silent desolation
His legacy left
Upon the now
Quiet steps
Of a tainted Earth
Withered and still
Mans great achievement
How to kill.
