Stuck

Anthony Hanible

 Stuck in this chair

Held in the air

Time like a thread

Thin with despair

Window of blue

Far from my view

Life drifting past

I can’t walk through

Radio’s sigh

Low lullaby

Songs of a world

I can’t stand by

Days I feel stone

Cold to the bone

Set in a corner

Left on my own

Days I feel smoke

Soft as a joke

Fading in rooms

No voices spoke

Most days I’m caught

Tangled in thought

Stuck in a life

Motion forgot

Still I remain

Quiet with pain

Watching the world

Fall like rain

Clever rhyming in these short lines that fall like the tick of a clock and add to the feeling of the poem of a life filled with the mundane and pain with little to look forward to. Nicely written
