Laughter fades
Now quiet is night
The curtains drawn
Put out the light
Each stair to climb
Memories of years
Good times and bad
Joy and tears.
The outer light
Moves in wind
Its shredded rays
Upon the trees
That sway as if
A dancing step
In unison
Of time is kept.
The silent sky
A landscape still
With twinkling stars
Who now fulfil
Natures strict
Unwritten rule
The cycle of
Its smiling moon.
