In the vast vacuum
Of space and time
A small spark ignited
Then there was rhyme
A collection of atoms
Particles and debris
Condensed into stars
Birthing light to see
A swirling of matter
Driven by a behemoth breeze
Black holes at the centre
Of spooling galaxies
Clusters of rocks
Becoming globes
Cooking pots of elements
Complex life takes hold
A collection of catastrophes
As evolution advances
Apes migrate from Africa
Taking their chances
One more snowflake
Lands on a laden branch
A branch that snaps
Becomes an avalanche
A similar process
To a poet's pen
Nothingness to complexity
Only to begin again
